What are Edible Cups made from?

Our cups are made from food-grade ingredients: wheat flour, white sugar, corn starch, wheat bran, edible soybean meal, xanthan gum, gelatin, edible vegetable oil, edible salt, sodium bicarbonate and edible flavouring. There are no plastic linings and no wax. It is simply a cup you can sip from and then snack on.

What size are the cups?

Every Edible Cup holds 8 ounces (240 millilitres), the perfect size for a regular coffee, tea, smoothie or a generous serve of dessert.

What pack sizes are available?

We offer three packs to suit everyone, from home sippers to busy cafés:

  • Pack of 9: $30.00, great for trying them out, gifting or a dinner party
  • Pack of 90: $180.00, ideal for offices, small events and cafés
  • Pack of 900: $1,600.00, our best value for cafés, caterers and large events.

Do bigger packs work out cheaper?

Yes, they do. The more you buy, the more you save. The Pack of 9 works out to about $3.33 per cup, the Pack of 90 to $2.00 per cup, and the Pack of 900 to around $1.78 per cup.

What can I serve in them?

Our cups are perfect for any beverage and dessert, including coffee, tea, hot chocolate, iced drinks, smoothies, gelato, mousse and more.

Does the cup change the flavour of my drink?

Not at all. Your drink tastes exactly as it should. The cup only reveals its flavour when you take a bite, and it tastes like a crunchy, lightly sweet biscuit.

What allergens do the cups contain?

Our cups contain wheat, soy and gluten. They are not suitable for people with coeliac disease, gluten intolerance, or a wheat or soy allergy.

Are they vegan or gluten free?

No. Our cups contain gelatin, which is an animal-derived ingredient, so they are not suitable for vegans or vegetarians. They also contain wheat and gluten, so they are not gluten free. We are currently working on a gluten free version.

What is the nutritional information?

Each cup (40 g) contains approximately 706 kJ energy, 3.5 g protein, 3.3 g fat (1.3 g saturated), 30.8 g carbohydrate (5.6 g sugars) and 56 mg sodium.

How long does the cup hold my drink?

Our cups are designed to hold their shape for up to 30 minutes with hot or cold drinks, giving you plenty of time to sip and enjoy before you crunch.

What if I do not want to eat my cup?

That is no problem, as it still leaves no trace. Place it in your green organics bin or home compost, where it will break down in about one to two weeks. You can even crumble it into your garden. If it ends up in general waste, it will still break down naturally within a few weeks.

How should I store them, and how long do they last?

Cups are best before 12 months from the date of manufacture. Store them in a cool, dry place. Once opened, keep any leftover cups in an airtight container or resealable bag so they stay crisp.
